The Dancraft Process

When you choose Dancraft Construction, you benefit from our Dancraft process... a step-by-step plan that sets us apart from other contractors by letting you know what we're doing every step of the way.

1-Initial meeting

At this first meeting, you'll meet with Dancraft owner and president Dan Swank, CR. He'll describe "the Dancraft Difference"... and the steps which make up the Dancraft process. Dan will also ask you what you love about your home... and what you don't like. (We'll use this list to help us develop plans and ideas for your home.) In addition, you'll get answers to your basic questions about remodeling, working with a contractor, selecting a designer, and obtaining financing. There is NO charge for this initial meeting.

2-In-depth, on-site consultation

Dan Swank, CR will come to your home or site for an in-depth "meeting of the minds" with you and, in some cases, David Flannery, our Registered Residential Architect. This meeting is our opportunity to see the site. But, just as important, it's designed for us to get to know you even better... understand your needs and wishes... determine your tastes... and get a sense for your budget. At this meeting Dan and/or the architect may produce preliminary sketches so you can participate in the initial design process. [Note: There may be a fee for this on-site consultation which is based on a rate of $65 an hourdepending on the complexity of your project. However, when a remodeling contract is signed, Dancraft will apply a portion or the entire amount of the consultation, design and specification fees to the purchase price.] While other contractors may not charge you a consultation fee, they are not spending this amount of time with you... or providing you with a wide variety of design solutions to enrich your life.

3-Presentation of designs and estimates

Once we've talked to you and determined your needs, we prepare designs/plans and estimates, which are presented at this meeting.

• Designs: The scope of each project varies. For modest modifications to a kitchen, for example, we provide you with design sketches, product photos and samples, and other information to help you visualize what's possible. For more extensive remodeling or room additions, we will draw up detailed blueprints in addition to providing drawings and other visual references to help you fall in love with our vision for your home.

• Estimates: In addition to design work, you'll have detailed specifications with a written estimate of all costsso there are no surprises upon presentation of the invoice. We also provide you with a timeframe as to when we can begin construction. Once a contract is signed, we will set a date for starting your project. On that first day of construction, you will receive a written schedule for completion of the various phases of the project... again, to keep surprises to a minimum.

4-Actual Construction

Dancraft's attention to detail continues with the actual work itself. Our skilled craftsmen do excellent work. And they strive to be friendly and considerate, as well as working to minimize disruption, dust and dirt.

5-Final Inspection

Once we've completed your project, it's time for one final inspection. You'll be impressed by the quality of the design... and the quality of the materials and craftsmanship. (If you'd like, we can even make your home "move-in clean" by providing maid service.)
