Dear Dan: Now that our major remodeling projects have been completed, we wanted to write and tell you what a pleasure it was working with you. We want to thank you for the patience shown during the pre-contract planning stage. As you know, we started discussions in March of 1997 and did not sign a contract until January of 1998. We had many meetings during this time with the architect and yourself so you could better understand what our preferences were and what we wanted to accomplish. It was apparent that you were more interested in giving us what we wanted than in making a "quick" sale. The construction phases of both the basement remodeling and sunroom addition were completed with the same patient, professional attitude as the planning stage. You began the process by giving us a detailed schedule of when the various stages would start and be completed. On those few occasions when the dates would not be met, you kept us informed as to why and when they would be completed. Even on those occasions where we were the problem by our indecision or wanting to change something, you were very patient and made us feel that our satisfaction took priority over just getting the job done. We were likewise impressed with the professional attitude and workmanship of your subcontractors. They were a pleasure to work with. Finally, there were no surprises in your contact price. You appeared to use a very detailed estimation system, and in those instances where the contract price increased, it was clearly due to us changing the specifications. Thank you again for the manner in which you completed the basement and sunroom. We were thrilled with the results and are currently enjoying both. We will certainly recommend you to any friends and acquaintances that are contemplating remodeling and/or addition projects.
